    The Brazilian telecommunication network operator industry has grown rapidly after the reform and seemed to be facing challenges. This case study focused, therefore, in understanding how the industry's growth occurred between 1996 and 2013. Therefore, in this study it was investigated: a) the results of the government’s objectives when planning the reform; b) the existence of unanticipated results produced by the strategy adopted by the government and c) the growth challenges that emerged for the Brazilian telecommunications network operators. The analysis was based on secondary data and in-depth interviews, which listened to 26 professionals who had worked or were working in three of the largest carriers in various departments. It was found that some government objectives have been achieved, some partially and others were not. There are goals that could not be evaluated because they are not specific enough. Still, the strategy adopted in the reform seems to have led, unexpectedly, to high market concentration and to poor quality services. About operators it was found that: entrepreneur movements in the industry seem to have been led mainly by government initiatives; the relationship of the operators with the government seems to have increased costs and generated loss of legitimacy; there are signs that the problem solving was not systematic; the various mergers and acquisitions in the sector increased the complexity of the business and there is evidence that inefficiencies generated waste of resources. Thus, this is an important industry for the economy and for the society, therefore, it is important to monitor its development and turn the interaction between the stakeholders and carriers positive for all involved.

    Fundada em 2002 e com um ótimo crescimento, em dois anos abriu uma nova loja. Em 2006, com os bons resultados, visando aumentar o faturamento e atingir um público ainda maior surgiram os planos para abrir uma terceira loja. Para isso, as sócias da Santa Cor precisavam determinar a localização, definir o mix de produtos, projetar o design de loja e organizar a exposição de produtos.
