«Looking back, I can't think of a time in my career that I enjoyed and grew the most than when I worked with Matias. Under his management, we successfully completed a big re-platforming project in which we literally rewrote a very large platform's core. We put processes in place to move from a twice a year to a monthly release cycle, while also bringing regressions and churn to an all-time low. We broke all our performance records. We made research and built proof of concept projects that continue to lead our innovation tracks. We did all that because he makes sure that everybody is enabled to succeed. If project scope is not clear, he'll gather all the stakeholders in the same room (and make sure that ALL are heard). If we're short in staff, he will reach out to his network, get referrals and team up with recruiting to surf LinkedIn side by side so that we can build up pipeline quickly. If there's an incident, he'll stay with the team for as long as needed and will make sure that everybody can focus on what's really important. He's also technically savvy, which allows him to ask the hard questions and challenge every weak spot, making sure everybody brings their A game. He will never say "that's not my job", because he understand that his job is bringing the best out of everyone in his crew. But above all, he's honest and a genuinely good person. He will not sugarcoat the negative and will not hold back on the positive, always making sure that people gets what they need to achieve the next step. I would normally say I'd love to work with him again. Instead, I will say I hope I ever get to.»
