I worked as a Software Development Manager, Software Architect and Agile Coach of the IBM Electronic Call Home Solution. In the past, I also played the Technical Lead and Scrum Master roles in this same project. I worked very closely with our Product Owner and Stakeholders focused on the product and evolution, aiming at exceeding customer satisfaction.

I led a team of 7 developers in a very fast-paced development software lifecycle using various practices from Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and eXtreme Programming (XP). This was a very knowledgeable, self-organized and multidisciplinary team where all Agile practices can be easily observed. The project is composed by 80+ projects/modules and four major applications developed using Java EE and deployed in a high availability clustered WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environment.

I led the team through a DevOps journey moving from a traditional/on-premise hosting environment to a Software Defined DevOps Environment, migrating all applications to WebSphere Liberty Profile (WLP). As part of this migration, we revisited all projects, performing some refactorings, improving existing process and getting ready to run in a cloud environment.

DynaMail: Internal IBM mailing list which allows easy creation of dynamic mails for groups, functional IDs. Intuitive UI built using the latest Ajax / Web 2.0 technologies where all mailing lists management can be easily performed as adding/removing new , s, etc. I was responsible for the whole backend setup, insatlling and configuring the mailing service on a RedHat 6 server, designed the backend logic using Python interacting with the mailman commands (OS level) and DB2… Mostrar más

A Registration Authority (RA), built into the Web UI, was written to ensure those who ask for a certificate are approved by management. High Scale Low Touch (HSLT) IaaS: This projects aims to implement a POC (Proof Of Concept) for an application to help on the provisioning of VMs for a cloud in IBM intranet. I've worked in this project as a Team Lead, leading the research and draft implementation of Security Groups for the VMs, interfacing with Amazon EC2 APIs.

OpenVZ security research: The goal of this research was to make sure OpenVZ (container-based virtualization for Linux) was secure enough to be used in a production environment, where the Bumbershoot project would be deployed.
